Kamehameha Day Parade 2012 – Lahaina, Maui

Our favorite parade in Lahaina!  They close Front Street, dress the pretty horses up with beautiful flower leis, and All the keiki come out to watch the excitement. The parade is to honor and celebrate Kamehameha the Great, the monarch who first established the Kingdom of Hawai’i. The pa’u riders represent a royal court led by a Queen on horseback, followed by princesses representing the eight major islands of Hawai’i.
